A homoeopathic paediatrician, a counselling expert and a freelance writer are a few words to describe my profession. My sole aim is to put forth practical piece of information that guides every one right in the direction, blending the medicos to a layman with a simple gesture to make the medical things a little less convoluted and comprehendible.
The inclusion of some physical activity within our lives is a must. It helps curtail odds like obesity, mood swings, depression and also their hazardous after effects. Cycling is one form that can satisfy all spheres including fun and the activity segment. Here the simple ride can form the entire workout schedule keeping distant all possible obstacles. The form is strenuous making the entire turmoil within the bony frame and keeping it fit.
Cycling Vs walking
Many believe that walking can easily replace any workout format and is the easiest comfortable version. But at times it becomes difficult to each time follow a brisk walk continuously and thus frequently walkers resort to a lazy version utilising the time for socialising, enjoying the weather or else just killing extra time. A slow walk even if practiced for years and longer hours too can’t do the required, though it is better than nothing but is not a choice to be toned, healthy and athletic.
A recent study conducted by Harvard school of public health reveals that over a period of 20 years females who took up cycling for about 20 minutes on daily basis were seen to be on the same weight or a few inches less than before as compared to those who did not. Cycling is fun, easy and appropriate to keep off those extra fats then why not take it and enjoy fitness.
Benefits of cycling
- Tones your thighs without harming on the knees: cycling distributes the body weight in such a way that knees and ankles often get shielded within the process and are not much affected as they may be in aerobics or other exercise forms. Also it tones and raises on the muscle mass in the thigh and the calves region.
- Raises BMR: the ride improves on the circulation keeping the fat dissolved and easily voided off form.
- Prevents many ailments: with decreased fat content obesity, heart diseases, hypertension are all set at bay from ones living
- Strikes off stress and depression: the exercise regime stimulates on the feel good factors elevating mood and acting as a perfect stress buster.
Just like any other article here too some disadvantages are attached to these cycle ride and also form a major limitation to adopt it religiously.
The first limitation is for people with joint issues or arthritis where the problem restricts on the swift movement and may get worse with cycling, though expert opinion must be sorted to adjudge adequately. Here swimming would be a better choice as it keeps off all the pressure on the knees and aid a better working format to the suffering joints.
The second to mention is the support less back; here the back may take excessive strain which may be harmful later. To fade off the back issues an option to a seated bike is wise to opt, here the back is with held easily and one can make the most from the cycle.
Next is the gym ball, which on excessive cycling says about more than 5 hours a day makes the scrotum shrink in cold. And long term shrinkage can lead to impotency but that is a rare possibility and can come only with daily and long practice.
Apart from the above there are only health benefits attached to a cycling ride. So adapt the way to live life to the fullest with no worries, weight and tension in existence.
